COLOR? NO?

So many different colors arranged
Cool, warm, harsh, wicked and wild
These colors, so different yet so similar
These colors so confusing, yet so clear
There is only one color I like
It’s not neutral like white and black
This color warms my heart
This color melts my heart
This color I call abstract art
This color I call signature art
Slit my throat open
See my veins poppin
Listen to my voiceless voice
Rip my chest see my heart dance
The heart that harbored the color
The heart that harbored the dweller
This color became a tenant
A tenant with no rent
This color feels right
Eyes still gouged out
Brains about to explode
Tongue almost tied
This color
This honor
What to do?
What to decide?
Do you feel me?
Do you hear me?

I DEY FINE!

What’s light when there ain’t a little darkness
What’s calmness when there ain’t a little storm
What’s dealing with when there ain’t a little trouble
What’s conquering, victory when there ain’t a little battle

Sometimes you gotta be pushed to realize your worth
Sometimes the darkness ain’t even that scary
Sometimes the storm ain’t even that rough
Sometimes the trouble ain’t even that big
Sometimes the battle ain’t even that strong

As I lay me down
I thank the Almighty for I am grown
As I put my head down
I pray to the Almighty that I can see dawn
As I close my eyes
I hope for the spirit to give me joy and peace

I dey up
I dey awake
Morning dew topping the grass
Sunshine engulfing the clouds
Drawing the curtains
Shining my eyes
I no dey mumu
I dey correct babe
Yes I sabi am
Wetin be dis! You ask

It’s a voice, it’s a nerve
The last nerve that helps you see the light
The last nerve that keeps you calm
The last nerve that solves the trouble
The last nerve that conquers the battle

LDR- DIALOGUE 4- THE MEET UP

Lioness:
Olaaa hun
It’s been long overdue and I’m glad I’m about to see you again. Nights have been cold and days slow because of your absence. I can’t wait for you to hold me in your arms.

Lion:
Baby love
The only thing keeping us apart is the physical distance, I am with you in spirit, you have captured my heart in words I can’t explain.

Lioness:
Oh my love
I can’t believe it’s really here, LDR was killing me, I can’t wait for that day when the ticket will be one way for either of us. You have been a tenant in my heart, a tenant with no rent.

Lion:
My queen
You are the lioness that I’ve been seeking, the lioness to my throne, the lioness to our castle, the lioness of my heart. Baby I love you and I can’t be without you! I’m coming to see you, and this far I give God the Glory.

Lioness
Handsome
We have come from so far, ups and downs, didn’t think we would make it. Darkness and light fighting over authority, mourning shoes and dancing shoes all trying to fit one leg. I’m glad we are here hun, can’t wait to see you, can’t wait to be with you!

Lion
Amai
I’m flying thousands of miles to see you, this should tell you that you mean a lot to me. I promised to love you, I promised to hold your hand, I promised to wake up next to you in all your birthdays, I promised to be your king! Here I am doing just that, I love you! ❤️

LDR- DIALOGUE 3- OVERCOMING UPS & DOWNS

Lion:
Hi

Lioness:
Hi

Lion:
How was your day at work?

Lioness:
It was great, yourself?

Lion:
I’m fine.

Lioness:
Lover
I don’t like it when we are not in good terms. It messes me up and I know it messes you up too. Babe, LDR is hard and I wish we didn’t have to fight all the time.

Lion:
Bae
I understand and I’m sorry I made you feel that way! Being away from you is not what I envisioned In this relationship. I miss you and I miss us

Lioness:
Honey
If I had a choice I would just pretend to hug you until you get here. Love doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be true. The fights and arguments should make us stronger. Are they?

Lion:
Hun
I know I want to have this journey with you. I know I want to experience this road whether bumpy or smooth, it’s a ride I wanna take. We have to come out of it stronger if we see ourselves in an endless journey.

Lioness:
Love
Work is work, relationships are relationships, we all have goals and it doesn’t matter what we are going through we have to know how to balance all this! I chose you and I know it’s not a wrong choice.

Lion:
Sweetheart
I love you babe and I’m glad we had this talk. Hugs and kisses!

LDR DIALOGUE 2 PART 2- LIFE AT/WITH WORK- TOO BUSY?

Lion:
Olaaaa
How are you my love?

Lioness:
Hi!

A few hours later

Lion:
Hun
You okay?

Lioness:
Yes

Lion:
Had a good day?

Lioness:
Yep

Lion
I don’t know why I’m getting one word answers. You sure you okay?

Lioness.
Really? Okay.
You've been quite busy I see to even say hi! How can you be online and not respond to my several texts and calls?

Lion:
Hey!
Me being online doesn’t mean I only speak to you! I speak to other people as well you know! Besides, why don’t you check on me if I don’t? I told you we are so busy this week and I’ll be mingling with a lot of people. It’s already stressful, I wanna finish my day and talk to my sweetheart happily not like this!

Lioness:
Wow! You can actually say these things? You hurt me when you speak like this. I hope you find happiness with the rest of the online world. Have a nice evening!

A few days later

Lion:
Hey:
Are you still mad? Are you ready to talk to me? Do, you think I’m doing something wrong behind your back?
I don’t like it when we are in this situation, I just get messed up! We are so far from each other, the least we can do is put effort in getting along. Relationships are hard and distance doesn’t make it any easier. We need to stop being petty and work towards achieving our goals in this relationship.

Lioness:
Wait! Did you just call me petty? Do you think you are the only one who gets messed up when we ain’t okay? What happened to you protecting my peace? That you carry me in your heart! Please! Anyway, I agree that relationships are tough, but this is how I feel on whether you see each other or not! What effort do you put to protect each other’s peace, to make it work and to never ever feel like you are single? Who said you are doing something wrong behind my back? Your words!

Lion:
I don’t know what to say!

Lioness
OK

LDR DIALOGUE 2 PART 1- LIFE AT/WITH WORK

Lion:
Wifey
How are you my love? Work has been busy these past few days! It’s the end of the year and we have a lot going on. I’m not complaining and I actually really like it. We might not talk as much but trust me, you are in my heart.

Lioness:
Babe
I love it when you call me wifey! I just blushed 😍. I know you love and are committed to your job, that is one of the reasons that attracted me to you! A real man needs to be responsible either at work or at home. I see that in you! I love you.

Lion:
My love
You give me hope to face the day! Knowing that I have someone who has my back, now and eternity. We have quite a busy schedule this week, we will be meeting with a few people. It’s some sort of giving back to the community programme, we do it every year towards the end of the year.

Lioness:
Lover
I’m proud of you and your organization for the community engagement, you give people hope on facing tomorrow. I used to do this with my previous company as well, it was fun! Anyway remember the meeting I told you about? Well it went through, it was quite a successful deal. More money in the bank babe. 😜

Lion:
Babe:
You make me proud to be your man. I know that whatever you do, it’s going to be successful. I wish I was there with you! Trust me, we will celebrate all achievements, anniversaries, birthdays together in due time. Know this, I love you and we make a great team, whether near or far!

Lioness:
Dear
You give me hope and confidence each time I see your support, you know how to lift me up even when in doubt. You give me the zeal to wanna do more. With you, I am smarter, I’m confident, I’m prettier and I’m glowing! You are my man, you are my lover, you are my advisor, you are my lion king!

LDR DIALOGUE 1 - PROFESSING THEIR LOVE

Lioness:
Babe
I had a good day today, I spent my day with those that I love. You were the only one missing and despite me wishing you were here, I was not all sad coz I carry you in my heart

Lion:
Lover
Don’t be sad my love, you are my rock, my reason to face the day with so much joy knowing I will talk to you before we retire to bed. You make me a better person.

Lioness:
Sweetheart
I’m glad sweetie, you make me a better person, I walk with confidence knowing you have my back. That I am perfect with my imperfections before you! Knowing that you are patient enough with me to work things out when we are falling.

Lion:
Bae
You know, how I hate your hot and cold nature. I know you can be a drama queen but believe you me, you being a handful just makes me love you more. We are different and this keeps us going!

Lioness:
My king!
I’m jealous of those that see you everyday but you are worth every mile between us. This distance means so little for you mean so much. I love you babe and just so you know, you are my favorite notification.

Lion:
My queen!
Distance shouldn’t be an issue. We will make it through my love for I carry you in my spirit. Protect my peace hun, I will gladly protect yours! I love you cutie and just so you know, I miss you!

ABSTRACT

Like a painting with a multitude of colors oozing different auras
My veins are gushing out blood through different organs
Screaming for attention
Screaming for a solution
Eyes gouged out with darkness surrounding them
Ear drums break open with the hope of understanding them
Tongue set lose puking all kinds of words
Throat slit open finding my way with my lost voice
Do you hear me?
Do you see me?
Just like the painting with different meanings
So does my eyes, tongue, throat and ears
I woke up with a dry cut off tongue
Couldn’t see for my eyes were gouged out through a bang
Are your ears open?
Do you see my throat slit open?
Slit open cutting off my blood supply
My heart bleeds, soon it’s gon be dry
Blood on my throat
Blood in my heart
Pain in my heart and soul
Sorrow in my heart and soul
Tears in my eyes
Noise in my ears
Crazy in my mind
I guess I’m already blind

CALAMARI WITH VEGES

My friend from Uganda visited and she really loves sea food. As a good hostess, (she gave me this title, hahahah) I decided to cook some for her. We decided to cook calamari, truth be told I had eaten calamari so many times but I had never cooked it. So this was a first time for me. I was amazed by the results, so was my friend. It was so yummy! We overfed!

INGREDIENTS
¼ cup cooking oil
1 chopped big onion
5 crushed cloves garlic
1 chopped big carrot
1 chopped green pepper
200gms chopped spinach, steamed and drained.
250gms squid/calamari rings
¼ tsp red chili powder
1 chicken knorr cube (this is salty, so I didn’t add salt)
Half a bunch chopped coriander

METHOD
  • ·         Heat the oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute longer.
  • ·        Add the carrots, green pepper and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the spinach and sauté for 2 minutes then add calamari to this mixture and let it cook for about 3 minutes.
  • ·         Stir in the red chili powder and the knorr cube, let this simmer for 2 minutes.
  • ·         Add coriander to this and let it simmer for 1 minute.
  • ·         Remove from heat and serve over rice.

TIP: Squid must be cooked either a very short time or a very long time. Anything in between turns it into rubber. Two minutes over high heat is plenty. Beyond that will require at least 30 minutes to an hour to re-tenderize it.

DON’T LOSE YOURSELF

I started my holiday and it’s been a blast! I experienced so much in so little time.
Tembea Kenya they say
I’m on it I say
So there I go, I set off. Nairobi, Naivasha, Mombasa.
The lake, the tent, the 5* hotel then finally the beach.
I start with the lake, my boat ride was amazing, Water bucks, hippos and birds all over the place. I topped this up with a walk at the Lake Naivasha game sanctuary, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, hmmm hmmm hmm. Unfortunately I couldn’t see my family members, THE WILD CATS 🤣😂😂😂.
My day was great. What’s a tour in a town without the local food and market?
So I head to a kibanda. Where my githeri @? There it was served with a huge potato 🤣. The meal wasn’t complete without an avocado to spice it up. My Kikuyu siblings know what I’m talking about. As a foodie, come what may, it’s good right?
My tent at the resort was some experience, they can however do better. I honestly don’t have much to say about the resort because it was somewhat disappointing.
The meal I had for dinner was top notch and AFFORDABLE. It was at Enashipai Hotel and my oh my, I RECOMMEND.
Used a train to  Mombasa, awesome day experience, saw plateaus, antelopes and giraffes on the way. Food and “drinks” were great😜😜.
It’s great to be alive
Just like the animals in the wild, you gotta survive
God has given us so much capabilities
Wisdom is gone for free, ask for it regardless
You are the rose flower with thorns around, beside and amidst
Despite the thorns you always stand out
You strike, are attractive and make a statement
You lighten up the bush and everything around it
Roses will always be roses they say
Valuable yet priceless are the same time they say
Enter a room and leave a mark
Be adventurous and don’t stay in the dark
Don’t let your fun go
Represent, be you and don’t let it blow
I KNOW I WON’T! 😜😜

WILL IT PUT YOU DOWN?

People come into our lives for various reasons. Some come into our lives to help us realize our worth, some come to our lives to lead us to the right path both spiritually and emotionally.
Most times it’s not out there for us to recognize and understand it immediately until a particular situation or incident happens.
Sometimes we feel like it’s too late to make a change or realize who we really are... well let me tell you one thing: IT IS NEVER TOO LATE.
You need to understand that everything that happens is for a reason either good or bad, a lesson or a punishment, search deep down inside and you will definitely find the answer. This is the same case with the people we meet, the people we fall in love with, the people we hope we shall spend the rest of our lives with and we actually do, the people we hope we shall spend our lives with but we don't #shame.
None of the “it didn’t work out to my desires” should put you down. See yourself as the UNSTOPPABLE, so that even if it doesn’t work according to your heart’s desires you can push further, put more effort and pray about it so that you can get what’s really meant for you.
On that note:
LIVE, LAUGH & LOVE.
Having a great life starts with you
Don’t wait for anyone to decide for you
Be adventurous, be fun, be that person you wanna hang out with
Be sexy, be attractive, be that person you wanna spend the rest of your life with
Be your own catalyst
Be your own best analyst
Nobody knows you better than you
Then why let anyone decide for you
It’s a great world, waiting for you to grab it
It’s quite an amazing world because it has you in it
There are billions of people in this world
But none of them is like you, word
Darling you are so unique
Sweetheart there is no one alike
Babe you aren’t useless
Trust you are PRICELESS!
