HOME

Life’s too short to worry about things that make you unhappy
You wonder why it’s all making you grumpy
It’s rainy and muddy
Oceans roaring and stormy
Mountains falling
In troubled waters drowning
Feeling like you are falling apart
Feeling like you are alone in debt
Seeking love
Seeking peace
Looking and searching
The cheating thought of finding
Gosh when is it gon’ stop
You scream and tear up
All ain’t lost
Life is a gift
You stop and think
You gaze into thin air and blink
Wondering
Winking
Meditating
Asking
Where is home?
That shoulder to lean on
The presence of hope when all seems to be gone
The blessings that you start to count
The love from the people around you
The phone call from your loved ones
That smile from a stranger
Warm clothes on a rainy day
Comfort food on a stormy day
That bowl of soup
That ice cream scoop
That tall glass of hot chocolate coffee with a touch of caramel
The chocolate bars
The well-scented flowers
Those snuggles and cuddles
Those warm fuzzy feelings despite your tribulations
That’s where home is!

TIME BOMB

They say, one thing about broken clocks you can always tell exactly when they stop ticking.
With people, it isn’t so easy and sometimes.... you can’t even tell they are broken!
I do not know what’s going on
I do not know what we are getting on
Fights
Arguments
Stone cold
Being bold
I carried him in my heart, I walked with him in my spirit and each time I didn’t hear from him I felt uneasy and this is how I knew I loved him!
My joy turned to sadness
My sorrow was once happiness
He was my hope
He lifted me up
I do not recognize him anymore
Where is the man I used to adore
Where is the man who balanced my equation
Where is the man who showed me his dedication
There is a stranger on the other end of the line
A stranger who once together we used to dine
We might not have a lot of memories
Each memory was special and full of bliss
I called him my lion king, his highness
He called me his wifey, his lioness
I could have been his b!+(h
Now I know why and it wasn’t a fall in the ditch
He is a stranger alright
A stranger who was once a tenant in my heart
Do I blame it on him
Do I blame it on me
Do I blame it on us
Do I blame it on the distance
Do I blame it on greed
Do I blame it on love
Does love exist
Is love at the exit
My heart bleeds
A sharp pain in my heart it cuts across
Do I share it
Do I bottle it up
Paper is my confidante
Pen is my friend
I’m getting stronger
It scares me coz I will care no longer
I will no longer love
I will no longer strive
I know I will live
I know I will survive

THE SUN TO THE WAVES

"You don't need to do much... I will make you shine." The sun said to the waves!

It’s amazing how “love” can put us down on our knees
Stoop so low to finally touch your toes
Is there any truth out there?
Is there any “love” out there?
They say opposites attract
Does it justify attracting a brat?
You think to yourself “where did I go wrong?”
No honey, it’s just a partner gone wrong
Always hanging out with @$$h0|£$
Thinking this time they won’t be d!€<$
Their minds and hearts controlled by their p£n!$£$
Lies and deceits coming out of their F¥€<!ng beaks
And you think you have a problem?
Are you subjected to doom?
@$$h0|£$ will prefer b!+€#¥$ and leave a good thing going on
Douchebags will run away from loyalty and enjoy prostitution
We all have flaws but do you always have to diarrhea yours
Can’t you learn to respect that which you claim to be yours
Shitty excuses
Random decisions
Coming from a shithole of a mouth
A Latrine of a brain
A sewer of a heart
A dumpster of a soul
.... and yes! You and you! I’m talking to both of you!

COLOR? NO?

So many different colors arranged
Cool, warm, harsh, wicked and wild
These colors, so different yet so similar
These colors so confusing, yet so clear
There is only one color I like
It’s not neutral like white and black
This color warms my heart
This color melts my heart
This color I call abstract art
This color I call signature art
Slit my throat open
See my veins poppin
Listen to my voiceless voice
Rip my chest see my heart dance
The heart that harbored the color
The heart that harbored the dweller
This color became a tenant
A tenant with no rent
This color feels right
Eyes still gouged out
Brains about to explode
Tongue almost tied
This color
This honor
What to do?
What to decide?
Do you feel me?
Do you hear me?

I DEY FINE!

What’s light when there ain’t a little darkness
What’s calmness when there ain’t a little storm
What’s dealing with when there ain’t a little trouble
What’s conquering, victory when there ain’t a little battle

Sometimes you gotta be pushed to realize your worth
Sometimes the darkness ain’t even that scary
Sometimes the storm ain’t even that rough
Sometimes the trouble ain’t even that big
Sometimes the battle ain’t even that strong

As I lay me down
I thank the Almighty for I am grown
As I put my head down
I pray to the Almighty that I can see dawn
As I close my eyes
I hope for the spirit to give me joy and peace

I dey up
I dey awake
Morning dew topping the grass
Sunshine engulfing the clouds
Drawing the curtains
Shining my eyes
I no dey mumu
I dey correct babe
Yes I sabi am
Wetin be dis! You ask

It’s a voice, it’s a nerve
The last nerve that helps you see the light
The last nerve that keeps you calm
The last nerve that solves the trouble
The last nerve that conquers the battle
